Archibull
I enjoyed the Archibull contest because it
wasn’t just normal class work. I got to learn how to knit, crochet and latch
hook. We had a farmer (Glen) come in and talk to us about how he lived and what
type of wool he produces. He explained the processes from shearing the sheep to
all the cleaning that is involved. I found painting and drawing on the cow a
lot of fun. Altogether it was a load of fun and I hope I have the opportunity
to do it again.

Reflection on my journey: by Caitlyn
My journey with the Archibull 2015 was the most fun
but time consuming project that I have done here at Matraville Sports High. We
spent about 9-10 weeks designing and creating the cow. We started out with just a single topic (we
had wool) and then had to write down any ideas we got when we heard the word
wool. We learnt knitting, crocheting, latch hook and did lots of drawing. We
learnt a lot on how to get things from the farm to our fridges. I really
enjoyed this project because we had farmers come and talk to us and we got to
experiment with new ideas.
Archibull
reflection
In
the Archibull I learnt about all the different types of wool and how they get
from the farm to the clothes in our shops. I had a good experience interviewing
the farmer and learning a lot more about wool than I did before.
What
I liked most about doing the Archibull was getting out of maths and all the
other boring subjects to work on the cow. I loved the French knitting the most
and painting all the little sheep on the side of the cow.

Rugg
Lucas’ journey
my journey started not touching the cow for three weeks and
i was disappointed like i was doing nothing for awhile but finally i touched it
for about 10 minutes. I knitted but
someone stole it but then i latch hooked for 1 week the someone stole that TOO.
I kind of liked it but then i didn’t
touch for another week then I got sad.
My Journey
I loved
doing the Archibull program because it was great working with my peers. We all
had to contribute in making ideas, French knitting, latch hooking, making the
blog and painting the cow. I had a great experience contributing in the Archibull
and hope to do another project like this again.

My reflection on my journey
My journey was a
fantastic experience; I was really looking forward to doing this project.
I had to work in a
team and cowopperate with others.
I did things like
French knitting, latch hooking and knitting.
I hope to do more off
this in future.
I would just like to
say that thankyou to the archibull and all the sponsors that helped make this
possible.

My time doing the archibull
In the archibull I learnt new things such as Knitting, latch
hooking, French knitting, etc...
We also worked with primary school kids so I got the benefit
of helping others and teaching them new things.
Coming up with an idea for the cow was hard but with the
help of my classmates and teachers, we came up with a couple of ideas but sadly
we could only do one. I did like some of
the other ideas but the one we chose is my favourite.
One day some farmers came to our school to talk about their
sheep farms. Glen the farmer (he came from somewhere past Dubbo) told us about
his merino sheep farm. We learnt how to shear sheep but I think that farming is
not for me.
